Renee D. Shantz
Program Director
Hi, my name is Renee Shantz. I am the Program Director here at Westfield Child Development Center. I started working for WCDC in March, 2023. Before this role, I was upper management for an Independent Insurance Agency in PA for many years. After coaching sports for all of my children, I decided to pursue a degree in education. I studied Early Childhood Education at Bryant and Stratton College. I have always had a passion for working with children. My number one priority is to keep your children safe and my second priority is to HAVE FUN!
Cherokee Royer
Lead Teacher Infant/Toddler Room
My name is Cherokee Royer, I started working at WCDC in July 2023. I work in the Infant room providing care for ages 6 weeks to 2 years old. I attended Argosy University and obtained as Associates in Psychology. My favorite part of my job is seeing the children’s faces light up when they start to reach milestones.
Amy Sawyer
Lead Teacher Preschool
My name is Amy Sawyer, I am the lead teacher in the Pre-School room. I have been working at WCDC since 2013. Before I worked in the 3 year old room. I absolutely love watching the kids grow and learn new things. The most rewarding part is seeing their confidence grow and seeing how excited they get when they realize they have finally mastered whatever it is they’ve been working on.
Brianna Houghteling
Assistant Teacher & Cook
My name is Brianna Houghteling, I have worked for WCDC since 2016. I absolutely love working with children. My favorite thing about the daycare is watching the kids grow up year after year. I assist in all classrooms, but most of all I love cooking for all the children and staff.
Valerie Umble
Lead Young Preschool Teacher
My name is Valerie Umble. I started working at WCDC in May 2023. I work in the Young Preschool room providing care for ages 2 to 3 year old's. My favorite part of my job is watching the children learn and grow.
